Shayne is an experienced dog trainer serving Ottawa, Ontario and based out of the Barrhaven community. He has several years experience working with many different breeds and personality types. Shayne works with various behavioural difficulties, ranging from aggression and biting to basic dog walking and unwanted barking. Shayne is also a loving father and husband, who in his spare time enjoys camping, swimming, and most things outdoors. If you are looking for someone who can work with all members of your family, and who can help with a range of behaviours or situations, look no further.

We love dogs! It is incredibly rewarding to watch a dog learn and grow in skill and confidence, and being able to transform a pup’s behavior and help them become well–mannered, obedient members of the family is a source of immense joy and pride. We can’t wait to meet you!

Our Approach

Shayne uses a variety of training methods, as he recognizes that each dog is different and will require training individual to their needs or situation. This includes training techniques like positive reinforcement with toys, treats, and affection, to correcting unwanted behaviours or aggression through methods like distracting and breaking focus.

Working with dogs every day is a dream come true for Shayne. A gifted trainer, he’ll be the one working with you and your pup to reach your goals, whatever they may be.

A Montessori teacher by day, Kayleigh works behind the scenes at Your Dog Guy. You’re most likely to see her at boarding drop off and pick up!

We really are a family run business! Little A loves dogs just like her Dad, and is always ready with a gentle pet or snuggle. She even comes along on walks sometimes!
